youth leadership academy

Training tomorrow's leaders today

The A.P. Torrence Youth Leadership Academy is a one-week education and mentoring program for African American males aged 10-15 in the Grove Park community of northwest Atlanta. The program provides unique opportunities for students to learn, excel and succeed through academic discipline, personal accountability and character building.

The Leadership Academy is named after Dr. Andrew P. Torrence--the former president of Tennessee State University (1968-1974) and provost of Tuskegee University (1975-1980). Dr. Torrence was a lifelong educator and believed in the value of education. He is the father of Reverend Kenneth G. Torrence, founder and CEO of The Truth Teller Inc.
