government sponsored bioterrorism in the 21st century
The recent Ebola outbreak again begs the question of whether the raging pandemic in Africa has its origins in Western laboratories, or at the very least is being systematically ignored by those Western governments that are best positioned economically and technologically to arrest it. Could it be that the United States and European governments are again conspiring to commit genocide on the continent of Africa?
For those who think the U.S. government incapable of such dastardly deeds, one need only look back to the so called “Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment.” This was the project conducted by the U.S. Public Health Service to study the natural progression of untreated syphilis on unsuspecting black males. The study took place from 1932 to 1972 when approximately 600 African American men were intentionally infected with the disease by the U.S. government, while being told they were receiving free health care. These impoverished black sharecroppers were never told they had been given the disease and they were never treated for it. Many of the unwitting guinea pigs died of the disease, after passing it along to wives and children who were later born with syphilis.
This government sponsored genocide, under the pretext of biomedical research served as the pre-cursor to modern day ghoulish experiments with infectious diseases that are being introduced to populations of impoverished Africans on the other side of the globe. It started with Aids, and now Ebola ravages the continent Africa. Although the question of whether these recent pandemics that are plaguing the continent of Africa are part of a grand Western and European conspiracy to decimate the African populace is up for debate, it seems more than coincidental when considering the documented actions of the U.S. government in its criminal disregard of the rights and dignity of the hundreds of victims in the Tuskegee experiment. At the time John Heller, the director of Public Health Services Division of Venereal Diseases was quoted as saying, “For the most part, doctors and civil servants simply did their jobs. Some merely followed orders, others worked for the glory of science.”
It’s not hard to imagine those same words being used today by government operatives to justify the intentional infection of healthy people in the name of science. Based on this precedent already established in Tuskegee, who is to say that similar experiments aren’t taking place today on the continent of Africa with deadly viruses like AIDS and Ebola under the pretext of benefitting mankind? This same twisted logic has been employed throughout centuries during the imperialistic marches of England, France, and Portugal as they invaded the heart of Africa under the guise of humanitarian objectives to save the souls of African people from paganism and idolatry.
Although the stated European objectives historically have always been noble and altruistic, their actual aims have been as occupiers and conquerors. They came under the pretext of friendship and peace, but the end result has always been genocide for the dark skinned beneficiaries of European and Western largesse and gratuity.
In the sixteenth century, these same European nations justified slavery as being beneficial to their stolen captives and for the slaves’ own good. This white supremacist fueled arrogance rests on the assumption that the white man knows what’s best for the black man and is somehow morally and ethically ordained by God to kill, rob, and enslave as its birthright. How absurd and delusional are they who continue to believe that peace may be obtained through war, and that weaker nations must forfeit their lives, land, resources, and right to self-reliance to Western colonialist invaders? The irony is that imperialism and colonialism are always waged with high minded idealism, just like African American slavery was justified by Christian missionaries as soul saving altruism.
When will the centuries old charade of European and Western imperialism cloaked in self-righteousness end? Only when the dark skinned people of the world wake up from their malaise and slumber and say no more. No more can we look the other way and pretend that the decimation of African people isn’t relevant to our survival here in America. If they do it to our brothers and sisters in Africa, then they will do it to us in America, whenever the point that opportunity and inclination meet. Our collective consciousness must rise to the level that it cuts through the propagandist lies and misinformation of the oppressors’ self-serving, agenda driven, media conglomerates. Those who have eyes to see, and a mind to speak the truth must speak it. The time for action is now.
